Default Another ZT2 question...yes I searched first lol

Tried to do some data logging with the ZT2 today and nothing registered on the chart. Had the lead plugged in to the double phone jack with one going to the display and the other going to the laptop. The display was functioning, the cable to the laptop was registering activity, but no readout on the software. Any ideas?

Patrick,

Firsts, I would assume you have the software downloaded on your pc. (just checking, lol)
1. Start car
2. Plug the zt2 into your computer
3. open program
4. wait 30sec or minute, until sensor heats up
5. Then hit enter on the keyboard
6. Do a naked hula dance and pray to God it works... If it doesn't work, look into your wiring.
Good luck

Plug it in without the car running or in the start position. Then turn the key and fire it up.

I think we tried both those ideas but maybe neither. We seemed to try all sorts of things. I'll check again, thanks guys.

i had to run the phone jack to a phone/serial port adapter- then from a serial port adapter to a usb port adapter- then i had to run the program for the adapter, then find the port on the zt2 program that it was reading from - then it worked.

i had a thread about this- i think it was called stupid computers or something.
