The engine should be inside my s2 cab within a week or two, once I get my grubby little paws on the 2 UPS packages that are headed my way. It'll run as a stock 951S engine, and there isn't all that much other than bolting it all in that I have to do other than figure out where 6 wires go and figure out some hookup for the turbo coolant pump which isn't all that bad. Might end up with a few interesting black box projects here that will replace expensive porsche parts with newer cheaper electronics. Stay tuned.
I had it a bit easier.

I have a S2 and 924S blocks. Both of them have all the same oil & water systems like 951 block has. There is a plug on both these engines balance saft covers where 951 takes oil to the turbo.

I read this whole thread just now and it's excellent read. But it fails to bring any conclusions
Me being and S2 owner aspiring to "turbo it" would love to see a conclusion .
I didn't really want to bring the thread back to life

well I think the conclusion is that if you want a 3. litre turbo car its as good a starting piont as any . It is not for everyone as it tends to mean more custom and fabricated stuff but there tends to be less parts wasted than when you hot up a turbo . People do turbo S2 and a few of us virtuly do by putting S2 engines in our 951s as some a have done and some are doing right now
