Hello All,
I have a nicely built 3 liter motor, Carillo rods, knifed crank, custom girdle pins, Mahle 968 turbo pistons, 2.7 head, with 8-10 hours total run time on it. The last visit to the dyno yielded 429 rwhp and 420 rwtq. at just under 17 lbs of boost. After replacing two head gaskets it is now ready for number three and I have had enough. My mechanic has finally found the problem. After comparing the last two gaskets, he determined that the head is not clamping enough on one section of cyl. # 4. He can now see a vary slight low spot that he can get a feeler gauge under. It will require the removal of the engine from the car, and then tearing down the motor completely, and finally machining the top of block to get it perfectly flat. Even though there are fewer than 10 hours on this motor, that means all new bearings, bushings, seals, gaskets, rings (while you are in there), etc. While I enjoy driving and doing the basic maintenance, this is beyond my capabilities. Is there anyone out there with these skills and interest in this project? I am considering the complete removal of this engine and dropping in a small block chevy. Sacralige, maybe, but I am considering it. My engine would be available with a complete Wolf eng. mgt. system, Lindsey Super 61 with 10 hotside, thermal coated headers and intake, Lindsey Stage 2 intercooler, raceware head studs, Griffin all alum. radiator, alternator, starter, custom 3" S.S. turbo down pipe, custom side exiting exhaust, dual port wastegate, custom alum. intercooler and intake piping, all silicon hoses, throttle body, msd ignition unit, new fuel injection, knock sensor, and cam sensor harnesses, 83lb Siemes injectors, Lindsey fuel rail, fpr, and damper with braided lines.
My cylinders are perfect, pistons, head everything looks beautiful. Also included would be the factory lightened flywheel, spec stage three lightweight pressure plate with 6 puck clutch. I am sure there is much more that I have not written here. For the right person this would be a turnkey monster motor with everything to make it complete. I can tell you, this motor was assembled by Performance Developments in Costa Mesa, CA. It was assembeled nearly three years ago and sat there for almost 2 years before I purchased it from an acquantance. He had it shipped up here to Northern CA where I had it installed in my car.
I am not interested in parting this set up. How does $12,500 sound for everything? The motor (with head removed) is sitting in my car. It came off two weeks ago. I must now decide what to do.
Thank you for your consideration,
Kevin

Lart,
I know this is your business, but if you want the whole car with 6spd, 8 pt. custom cage, dbl. adjust. Konis, racers edge bushings, sparco race seat, scroth harness, big reds, etc. etc. than it will be $22,500.
Solo,
Found a couple more shots for you.

If you are serious about selling the whole car and the price is negotiable I am very interested. I have a 2.5L engine that I will use in the race car. Maybe I'll keep it for myself and give Mr. Kibort some driving lessons.

$22,500 sounds good for everything included. Only thing that worries me is that you guys haven't been able to keep a headgasket in it !!
Seriously, I would be interested-- I just need to learn how to drive first.

I would suggest trying an Oring mod – that is the ‘easy’ way to deal with sealing surfaces that are not perfectly parallel. It won’t cost you that much and it is worth a try before giving up. Your mechanic can even spec out that the #4 groove should be just slightly shallower than the rest.

Wow, that's an awesome car and good price.
Kevin, if you would.....two questions...,
Does this car meet exhaust decibel level requirements at tracks you raced with that side exit..., and
what rear wing is that...?

Kevin: You have a sharp looking car. Maybe you should think about what Chris White said before getting rid of that engine? It is a kool car you built, and it would be ashame to let it go. And my God, please don't let Lart get a hold of it and part it out. Lart is like the Gordon Gekko of 951s, he will sell it off piece by piece!
