Guns' 944 GTR Project **Updated**
Okay, I know its been awhile - so here are the updates, they may look minor but there is A LOT of work going into the details.
Door handles/mirrors shaved, rear reflectors filled, rear floor gone along with spare tire well (they drilled and tapped out every factory spot weld to take it apart unmolested), fuel hole is shaved as well, dual dry breaks will be going in back.
Fuel cell was mocked up and I gave the go ahead to make it permanent. Its as forward as it can go (its an upside down L shape and it hugs the transaxle), keep in mind its a 40 gallon fuel cell, and its freakin' big.
The little annoying vent holes that line the sides of the hatch are welded shut.
They're working the exhaust tunnel for side exit out the passenger side rocker panel, doing an integrated cage for the front half just like RUF does for 911's and a beefy X rear cage.
After that, they're doing the rear floor in steel (as this in all reality will end up being more of a show/street car than trackcar) so it can be painted as flawlessly as the rest of the car.
The rear quarter tubs are being hand done as to be visually seamless when completed, the rear tires I'm using are a 455/25/18 series and they have "enough" sidewall to look right (the tires in the pics are 335's).
The fiberglass will start to go on in November.
I'll have more updates in October/November.

Thanks, saw the new pics of your car with the cab in the other thread...looking super nice I must say!
I can't wait until this thing is done either. I'm still learning that whole patience thing.

Hey Guns....., just wondering, going though all this work and the body in the condition it's in with all the welding and all....why not go ahead now and have some metal flares added instead of the bolt on ones....?

A work in progress, looking good and it also looking expensive.
You guys need to go back and read the billons of posts on this car build, it does have a purpose in its next life.
