I heard one for the first time the other week, and OMG I want one in a series 8 RX7 as my second Jappa Supercar Now looking for a nice one and a new house with a bigger garage haha. Its a long shot about this, hopefully Little John has heard one! Seriously sound like a F1 car...

Well some Cosmo's come with 20B's (triple rotor) of course... I've also heard of a guy who converted a 13B to triple rotor, he has a website somewhere that is something like www.not-20b.com
As for making a quad rotor, the tricky bit from what I've heard is finding/making an eccentric shaft that will do the job, could be way off though as I don't know too much about rotors myself.

20b's and 26b's are pretty nasty motors. Check out this 20b powered AE86. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvPfi-ZeQRM , you'll have to bare through the annoying asian guys yelling in the car.
They may make a ton of power for their size and sound rediculous, but they also have to be one of the mos difficult motors to keep running well, good luck finding someone willing to tune one of those ... Another thing, gas mileage. A good friend of mine is lucky to get 10 mpg on his 3rd gen rx7. now add 1 or 2 more rotors and a bigger turbo/s and alot of fuel. and you go from counting miles oer gallon to gallons per mile. I've seen a highly modified 20b cosmo 3rd gen rx7(~700bhp) that the owner could go on a spirited drive and drain the tank in 20-30 minutes no problem.
but still... awsome motors

Yeah its all in the crank, the 20b out of the Cosmo is actually longer than using a 13B and adding a rotor with custom (though off the shelf) crank. That way you can drop it in to the say series 6 body without custom mounts and moving steering or PS stuff from what I have been told.

I'm putting a 3 rotor peripheral port normally aspirated engine in my 914 - hopefully it will sound like the car in the videos below. I'm also considering putting the 20b T-88 into the Fd. Probably a winter project though (see my sig). A 4 rotor would be awesome but out of my league for cost. Probably looking at $30K-$60k depending upon what you put it in and if you do the work yourself or hire someone. Definately not inexpensive.

A friend of mine and I joked about getting a C5 Corvette, pulling the LS1 and putting a 4 rotor in. Since in the early days GM built a test Corvette with a rotary we thought it would be hilarious to put one in the C5 and then post on the Corvette forums how "Corvette is going back to it's roots". With all the LS1 conversions being done to other cars I thought it would make for some interesting discussion. Imagine the hate mail we would get. *lol*

If you want factory parts a Mazdaspeed factory 4 rotor e-shaft is going to set you back around $10K US. Here is a video of the Scoot 4 rotor car:

My friend wants me to paint my 914 in this paint scheme to pay tribute however I don't think it would look particularily good on my 914.
