I have to admit it, when you pull 167 through GPS, I'll buy the beer's.

Kinda funny how it takes twice the displacement to make those 40mph top speed claims over the 951...
It takes twice the displacement because they're not running an extra atmosphere (or more!) of air and a proportionate amount of extra fuel

Steve clocked in at 167, that's pretty damn respectable in my book.

But I still gave he and Bill a solid "what the **** is that?" in their rear view mirrors -- repetedly!

With a properly tuned and spooled 951, you will always impress somebody.

How much power were you running when the 928 truck smoked you?

No dyno here, but pulling up a grade, the TO4E would just rip through redline.

And I think these 928's were a little surprised... In fact, I know they were.

You know guys, grow up a bit. There are a lot of advantages to owning a 928. The biggest disadvantage to owning one is having to tell your parents you’re gay.

Just because other 944 owners participate in drag, I'm not following suit. I hate wearing heels and the Corvette is a much easier car to fix my lipstick in.

i had an 84 928 euro and currently 951 turbo s. i liked the 928 better except for the fact the parts are much more expensive and it wasn't quite as fast as the turbo s. the turbo s is modified and the 928 was stock.

the 928 is dimensionally not that much bigger, and the early ones are not that much heavier. my euro weighed right around 3000lbs stock and had 310 hp. compare that to a stock non s turbo's 220 and around 3000lbs. which do you think is going to be faster?

the s4's may weight around 400-500 lbs more but also make alot more power than a stock turbo.

i really miss the v-8 power. much funner around town.

A friend of our family owned a 928 (alas, not an S4) and I rather liked it. It is a more civilized car for heavy traffic than the 951, and plenty of fun with all that torque on tap all throughout the powerband.

However, being young and foolish I would pick my 951 over the 928 any day. It's muuuuch more of a "race car" and just plain more fun. That said, once I get old I'm sure I'll get boring enough to own a 928...

You guys realize that all this 928-bashing isn't getting us anywhere w/ the P-car community, right?

I'm as hard core a 951 fan as you will find but have to tell you, anyone putting down a 928 just plain doesn't get it...

Both are awesome cars in their own right.

Regards,

Agreed, the car is awesome and on a serious note I like 928's, but the fun you get upseting the bypolar 928 crowd is unbeatable.

You guys are just too much. Arguing over which car is better when we all know 968 Turbo's knock the socks off both of the pig mobile (928) and the poor man's playboy mobile (951).
