He passed by and got about 100 yards ahead. When I passed him I was doing about 140 and he was fading fast. As I approached 170, I could hardly see him in my mirrors anymore. Real men don't drive four bangers.

Ibkebin is gay, plus he is hooked on porno, my car would have leave your truck 928 in the dust. Unless you have 400rwhp and 2800lbs of weight than you can smoke me, otherwise I will use my pos 06 mustang Gt to kill 928's

There are some real jerks in this world. 928 owners for the most part are Porsche owners first and 928 owners second. A donut to a dollar he is not a rennlister

I have both cars currently. Both cars are completely different animals!! The 944 Turbo is more fun to drive, more nimble, has more of a race car feel, and I love the rush of the turbo when it kicks in. My 944 Turbo completely blows the doors of my 928 in everything from 100mph on under but once on top end the 928 can hang a little better but the Turbo still walks it. The 928 is more of a cruiser! Unbelieveable highway handling, at 140mph its definitely more stable than my turbo! For a big car it definitely takes the corners with the best of them! Lets not forget the style of the 928, absolutely gorgeous nothing else like it on the road. I have wanted a 928 since I was in grade school! There both great cars with strengths and weakness's.

Some people on this board are just arrogant and can't understand that there are other good cars out there. I can already tell where this thread is going to go!!

Are you talking about a 928 or a 944T?

I have had both cars. I like them both. I like the vintage feel of the 78 928 with it's V8. But maybe because I am getting older and becoming a little more vintage myself. Both are fine cars with lot's of fine attributes. Had I been driving next to you I would have given the thumbs up! In fact, I hung out with my brother in his 1989 911 C4 this morning on the commute in. I kept hitting him with my passing lamps just to make him laugh!!

They are both great cars, and that's why they had to be killed off: the 911 HAS to be top dog at Porsche.
The next cars that should have been built by Porsche in the '90s: the 968 variocam turbo 3 liter and the 928 variocam twin turbo 6 liter...
The 911 would have been yesterday's toast.

This will not be a speed test. But a test to see how many launches you can each do before parts hit the crowd.

I give you three. Tim's car already has a few dozen with 295/35-18 BF Goodrich Drag Radials.

Don't give me that highway roll on crap since with the 220 rear end her car will easily do 200mph.
If you really want to be embarrassed, there is another 928 in this area that is faster in every way than Tim's two cars, it even has a custom 7 speed transmission. He’s running Mickey Thompson DOT drag slicks, stock rear end with stock axels / CV joints.

This is just from the Wisconsin crowd.

Oh yea, his stage 3 kit just hit the market. So there are more than a few 500-550 rear wheel hp 928’s running around. With a drive train that can actually take the power.

Take it easy, be safe out there guys.
So can we expect a 928 or 2 present the next time these guys hit the track .....

About two weeks ago I was on the 101 freeway in Phoenix when I went by a brand new(still had the paper license tag) GT3 RS. It was beautiful. I was in my 951 and he was nice enough to look over give a little nod. Then I dropped down a gear and left him like he was sitting still.

Ok, it was rush hour and he was standing still, but hey, give me my moment of glory.

Hooked on ****, pssssh!

It's still pretty damn amazing this 20yo four banger has such an aftermarket of goodies that will glue you to your seat.

Next is PWI Steve, with reliable crazy *** boost. You better get SC'd Honey!

I have owned/own examples of both. Both have advantages over the other. Neither is better so to speak.
The guy in the white 928 obviously wanted to race is all. Big deal, so what -it happens-all the time.
Be safe out there.
