Turbo Twist Paint Code?
#3
Just talked to wheel enhancement, they blend their own automotive 2 stage paint for the wheels they refinish. There are several manufactureres for the 993 turbo twists and there is no paint code for them. Depending on manufacturer, the paint color can be slightly different.

Here’s your paint code;
color=Felgensilber
make=PPG/nexa 2k lead free paint
discription=basecoat metallic code=1000
cost $$$$$ about $80.00/pt.
you will need ppg 2021 clear for them. I will post some pictures of my 18" technology(Hollow spokes) wheels. When I am done.
My other passion is radio control models which I paint on a regular basis
with nothing other than the best paints (PPG) available period.
I have an HV low-pressure paint gun, German make obviously, would have it no other way.

I called the dealership for the paint code for a set of boxter twists and was told the code is "92u". The Sherwin Williams auto paint store near my house said that was a valid code in their computer and could mix me some.

Just a note. Factory wheels are not painted where the center cap fits or the lug nuts seat,. They even mark the center recess with a marker pen to show the balance. Seeing paint in the recess is a dead giveaway that the wheel has been re-finished
I have re-finished many of these wheels and always mask off those areas the same as the factory. If you get too much paint inside the centercap recess there's a risk the caps wont sit properly. Thats also the surface the wheelshops use to balance the wheels, so you want the wheel to sit properly on the balance machine. You also shouldn't have any paint under the lug nuts. Its not much of a risk as the tightening will soon clean it off, but its still not good practice.
I have a local paint supplier mix the paint to match the factory finish.
