Default night out

A friend of mine snapped this pic outside a restaurant in downtown Denver. He had his camera in his car and thought it was a good shot.

Lower that ISO down to 200 or 100 and get rid of that digital noise and it'll be a much nicer shot Looks good though.

That could have been a brochure back in the eighties.

I agree that it could have been a brochure shot from the eighties, that is why I liked it. I cropped out the Honda Element that was parked behind me.

Man, before I read the replys after Mikes, I thought to myself "no, the picture is awesome the way it is. Looks very 80's-ish as far as the lighting and the scenery".

The car looks good. Gotta love the fuchs on a red car!

The ISO is fine IMO, it gives the picture that "night" feeling, your not supposed to see everything as clear as day. The slow exposure blurs the movement in the background which brings out the main focus of the image...which is the car. However I doubt the ISO could have been any lower and still get a decent picture...assuming this was taken with a digital camera w/ built in flash. If it was set up with proper studio lighting, etc. then yeah a lower ISO would have been better. Of course this also depends on the image sensor being APS sized or larger but I don't think this picture was taken with a digital SLR.

The digital noise could be from a low pixel camera or simply because it's a low res. compressed jpeg. All in all it's a nice picture for an on the spot shot with whatever camera they happened to have at the time. The color could use some softening but that's about it.

An excellent quality photo IMO. If you don't mind, I would like to print the shot on my new wide format printer and matt/frame it and hang it in my office -- I like it that much. Is it OK with you?

I hate hate hate digital noise, I'll rip off a 10 second exposure, F2.8 ISO 160 at night allllll night long, zero digital noise, crisp as day. A combined shot one for a slight blur on the people and one for the car would've been the best way to debate the shot. You dont need a studio to rock a low ISO just steady hands, I've got a bit of experience on the topic

Wow. It was just a snapshot(not a photograph and they are different things) a friend took when he went to put money in the meter so we would not get tickets. Sometimes, the imperfections are nice to see. Sometimes they are not.

If anyone wants to print it out go ahead, enjoy.
