Default Exhaust leaks affect idle?

Anyone had or dealt with real bad exhaust leaks and if so would they affect idle/vac??

I have a leak and think it is the DV, but if not then it has to be on the exhaust side, pre wastegate.

Anyone?

No, exhaust leaks don't affect idle, but they do affect boost build up

That's what I thought.

I will just try to change out my dc with someone local that has one to confirm.

Really? Then why was my idle at a constant 950 rpm when I was leaking exhaust through my exhaust manifold gaskets? And why was my spool up so slow? Vaccuum leaks cause high idle...

Leak between the head and the turbo (in the header, crossover or at the WG inlet) will affect spool up in a bad way.

An exhaust leak AFTER the turbo can also affect spool up and performance, but in a good way

They kept mespecifically so that people like you wouldn't pass on BS info, using half assed techniques and snake oil.

Techniques?? This is not Martial Arts. Mechanically there is only one right way to do things and most answers are either yes or no

I think he's just PMSing.

Or he just wants to ask you out on a date, LFA, and can't get up the courage.
