Is the hood needed?

Also if you remove the rear glass, you can then cut out the floor and open up the gas tank. Think of the time saved on fillups just having to spray gas into a large gas pool. Or if you need extra boost, throw in a match for an afterburner.

Btw, does anyone know if the rear glass is needed or if I can just run with the frame there (don't want to lose the wing for aerodynamic reasons). It would make it a lot easier for me when getting stuff in and out of the luggage compartment?

By keeping them under the hood, they are handy and are prewarmed so you don't have to wait for your oil to get up to temp again. Also you are already up to temp in case of a surprise emissions check since everyone knows getting up to temp quickly is all the belly pans are for anyway.
