Default My birthday today - so back to the DYNO......

Well - went back to the dyno today (against Lart's wishes)
Here are the conditions:
95 degrees F in the shop
PUMP gas with 25% xylene (God PLEASE strike me down if I am lying!!!!)
2 bar boost - much more in this turbo but I didn't have the ***** to go more on pump/xylene
There is no more head lift - I will not touch it until Wednesday at Lebanon

I can say that I finally have a good handle on these engines mechanically - I will make a few changes and we will see 7-800 at the wheels next year.

Why did your torque drop so much from last time?

HAHA - yeah - you will notice in my last setup that the cylinder head lifted also!
It was TOO MUCH torque too early in the revs, the result of a few different circumstances.
This chart has been MY DREAM powerband - the HP continues to escalate to redline - this is an honest powerband. Look around to see if you find many 2 valve heads with powerband like this.
I really could not be happier with it now, it is much faster than it ever has been.

The 95 degree heat slows spool a little too, which lowers the torque here.

Looks good and believable. It will be interesting to see how cars with such different power bands do racing each other. I have posted your dyno chart with mine roughly laid over it in the 1/4mile race thread. See you on wednesday.

What are you going to do in order to get your torque back? How do you control the torque curve? Is it in the timing?

Dude, a 500+ HP dyno pull and qualifying for your AARP card in the same day? That's just awesome.

Still the 8-valve head right? What valve-train mods have you done to rev that high?
