Eh, yeah parts are expensive....but again technically, mods hurt the price of a porsche. High retail for a 951, last time i checked was about $8500, in my experience you have to search high and low/drive across the country to get that price usually, for something in excellent condition with records. And 9 times out of 10, mods arent done right...payin extra for a blown engine eventually is certainly a waste. Imo, 300 ponies to zip around town is plenty....and you dont have to do much tuning to reach that...hell my 87 was 10k, pushin 260(chip) at the fly, and had bilstein M030 aftermarket, and 192,000. take off the cat and im good, power wise, thats very little tuning. Thats one of the beauties of a porsche. Usually, youll never see most of the extra money for mods. I also prefer my 951 to be a daily driver, not a pretty collector piece in my garage, or something to rip on at the track. Then again, something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, and that goes for all used items for sale.
