Default Alternate hood release

Has anybody mounted the hood release lever anywhere other than the stock location? I already broke 2 of the stock levers so id like to try something new. I was thinking of putting a handle in the front bumper somewhere or if all else fails hood pins. anybody have any pictures or ideas?

Whe you say you have broken 2 of the levers, That does not sound normal. I have owned 3 944s and never broken one. I would try and "figger" out what is going on that yours are breaking?

I have the piece that shiners linked to with a custom bracket for mounting in the factory location, if you're interested. This is most easily mounted with the engine, or at least the turbo removed.

I just made the mount for it. The lever is a unit from Lokar. It's ~$50 from Summit, and took some time to install, but I got tired of dealing with the broken plastic OEM unit on my car. Arguably, I could have bought a replacement factory unit, and had it function for another ten years, but I liked this better.

Please excuse the ghetto carpet.
