Default Maxlife oil does work!!

I was leaking around my oil pan gasket and tightened it up, 4 bolts were loose towards the end around the dipstick. I was using Amsoil 20W50 and I was looking for Valvoline VR1 Racing oil. It wasn't easy to find so I started putting in Valvoline Maxlife 20W50 and I instantly noticed that it was using less oil, this stuff really works!! Now it leaks half as much and I just added it to the Amsoil in there already. My next oil change I am going to completely switch over!

actually Maxlife is a great oil suited well for our turbo cars it has more ZDDP then Valvoline Racing 25/60. we use both VR and maxlife. we have had zero oil related problems ever. and we have been valvoline products before the start of time.

I might try the VR1 Racing later to see how it works in comparison, but so far I have half the leaks and I'm saving almost 3 times as much money in oil. $3.78 for Maxife versus $8.99 a quart for Amsoil

Funny, I have always chosen the oil that lubricates best.

Not using the two preferences of leak blocking and price as my guidelines...

Interesting.
My 944 Turbo S is using 20w50 VR1. I for years it has had leak either in the pan gasket or rear main. Neither are simple fixes. Leak has been ok and manageable, but slowly increase. The car does not see that much driving duty and NO track use so just might put in maxlife pretty soon. (next change). I know I need to fix the leak, but maybe I can make it another 6-12 months before I need o fix it. Hey I only put 3-5k a year on the car so a year is not that many miles. The oil quantiy is tiny and maybe uses 1 qt every 2k miles, but the issues is the oil drips on the cross over pipe causing nasty smooking for a time after start up.

Different strokes for different folks, I think Maxlife does both...
