Nah bull**** - they dont crack.
That's another rumor from someone who doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.
The high egt in these cars cracks the headers.

I have installed the 38 on 2 86's, and they were both EASY.
You can ask Rennlisters "Turbox" and "vwvortex123"
how easy they were.
No grinding on those 2, or on any of the other 10 I have installed on later cars - including mine.

I've installed seven of them thus far and haven't had one crack. I have the 46mm on my car (86) and I put a 38mm on my dad's (86). Both install's were a snap and I had zero fittment issues.

Well there you go, guys.
You can listen to Jeremy and I (who actually have installed many),
or some retarded 12 year-old nose picker living in his mom's basement.

According to 951and944S it's possible to install the Tial and support it with the exhaust hangers that are in that spot. He says you have to turn the hanger around and finagle it. I crawled under his 87 and he's right.

My 86 didn't have the downpipe hanger that the later models have. One email to Lart took care of that for me. The Tial will be installed after I come back from vacation in a couple of weeks.

BTW, my 86 has a two piece crossover. I didn't change it and don't truly know if the PO did or perhaps the car was a later 86 model and came originally with the 2 piece.

The stock bracket can be used by the way... Just drill a new hole in it.
