Not sure if this is a repost or not but I thought it was pretty cool.

Good videos, but..

Let's keep it in perspective. On a lapping day a 914 can (and do) pass a twin turbo and make it look really bad in the process. An NA can pass a 944 turbo. (I've personally experienced this.)

It's all about the driver on a lapping day.

All that said. I like the Golf as a daily driver. Add a turbo and have some fun. As a track car, the inside tire spinning on every corner would drive me crazy.

RWD ALL THE WAY!

My post was in reference to the the second post and a track preped Golf driven by an experienced driver that appeared to be much faster then stock cars driven by accountants on lapping days. Let's compare apples to apples.

It is an awsome car no doubt about it but I it was running on slicks. At a recent trackday I couldn't believe one of our 951 crowd, who used to race 944's granted, but he war running a completely stock 951 apart from 928GTS Big Black calipers up front (but with a tired wastegate and M030) on slicks and he was smoking everyone out on track including a couple of 964RS's, 996GT3RS's and a couple of fully race prepared prepared Renault Clio cup cars. It was an awsome display but I don't doubt for a second if you had sat him in one of those 996GT3RS's he would have gone even faster. I should really learn how to drive properly!!

Here is a 914-v8 800 HP SB2.2 Chevrolet 383 C. I. Bowtie small block NASCAR engine. This motor was built by a NASCAR engine builder in North Carolina Eatmon Racing Engines. They build motors for the Hooters Cup and Nextel Cup cars and more.<p> Not a vedeo

That 914 is insane. Our v8 914 has about 300 hp and it's a handful.

My son was supposed to get the CD, I'll have to see if he has it.
