If the video shows the speedo or tach, we can see how fast you go it to a tenth of a second with video editing software... I've done it a few times with a couple little formula cars, and a couple 60-100mph runs on street cars to gauge the power/torque increases from various mods.

To the drag strip! Our local one has races every weds night for $25 or so, you end up getting at least 4 or 5 runs (more if less people show up), and they show all your times.

yeah def leave the street tires on I was running a 315 nitto dr on my 12.3 pass next pass broke a stub axle. I've broken a few of those as well as the crosspin in the diff before I bought a lsd unit as well as chewing up a R&P set. Thank god I'm really good at overhauling these trannies! I used a 2-step on my MSD to get the desired launch rpm and something about the pulses of it helps build boost while sitting still. Good luck and lets see some 11's!

11's if he screws it all up! Low 11's with tire spinning. I had 400RWHP. 2800lb car... I ran a consistent 11.5's with nitto NT555 Street tire made for Drag racing. 120mph.
Compare 2500lb car with 550RWHP. 10's easy. (9's if you've got some insane stick - yes possible!) Take those numbers on any 1/4 mile calculator on the internet. Real world proven. Popular 1/4 mile Calculator Here
But. I gotta be honest. I'm more of a Corner carver, so I used to make fun of Drag racers in how easy it was. But it did take a few years of practice to get those times down. There IS a skill to it. So.... If he doesn't get a 10.XX. Don't worry. His car CAN do it. (Keeping a few spare set of axles handy a must)
