Default stock caliper + larger rotor brake upgrade??

Anybody know of a brake system upgrade that allows us to retain stock calipers but use larger diameter rotors? I've seen it done on other cars, where a bracket is used to relocate the calipers a few inches radially from the center of the hub, making room for larger rotors. Larger rotor surface area = better cooling and less fade.

I searched and found lots of info on brake upgrades, but it seems most involve newer/bigger calipers. Curious...if this hasn't already been tried on our cars, could it work and would it be considered a valuable modification? It would certainly be less expensive than installing S4 or Big Red calipers...though arguably less effective.

Lots of views, no replies. I'm guessing this upgrade has never been tried... Anyone? Bueller?

it's quite possible yes, just fabricate the adapter and find a disc with same offset, or adapt the fitment with caliper, you will need to find a rotor with same width of pad running surface.

usually stuff like this is done on the rear.

I don't have the time/resources to tackle this project right now...I was hoping that somebody else had already done it. I guess I'll have to add it to my list of winter projects. Either that, or petition a shop to fabricate a braket for me. I'm sure it can work...and possibly be a money-maker. Hmmm...........

Check out this link

It is exactly what a UK 993 owner has done to fit the 322mm disk from a 928GTS under our standard callipers that normally use a 304mm disk

Thanks Paul...great link...exactly what I was talking about. It's good to know this is possible to do...and it seems relatively easy, too.
