Default Steam Vent Kit Question!!!

Hey guys, Dave Lindsey hasn't been replying to my e-mails... so maybe someone on here would know...

I bought the Steam Vent Kit, with no instructions at all of course, and was wondering if anybody has installed this themselves or would i need to go to a machine shop to have it done?

If i were to do it myself, how do you put the fitting in? Do you tap the hole first and then put the fitting in?

I'll probrably end up taking it to the machine shop and say "drill a hole in this and make this peice fit into the hole". That would make it easy, huh?

I had the machine shop install the fitting in the head - it needs to come out to do this - and I installed the rest of it in about 10 minutes.

Loquat15 - I know of your fustration trying to get information/instructions from LR. I sometimes wonder if they believe everything is intuitive or we're all tuners and have a complete understanding of this car. I hope that LR realizes we're not and will either furnish the nesscesary paperwork or at least include it on their web site. Good luck with your Steam vent situation.

yeah, read that... its great to know where to drill and all, but not knowing the size is a different thing, same with the damn tap size.

Guess i'll take it back to the machine shop... got about a week to do that now... haha

I've never had any problems with lindsey racing in the past as far as Dave getting back to me with my questions. All i can figure is..well.. i figured that he took some vacation for memorial day weekend or something, obviously its an extended one or... well... who knows.

And i really do wonder WHY they dont provide any info with that kit! I found a little something on 944online.com where Dave Lindsey was telling somebody about the kit and had a price thats about 10 bucks less than what it is now...

Oh well. I swear i saw the instructions on their site... now its... well...

Off to the shop it goes.

One of the tech guys at LR is off with some family health problems. You have to keep calling to get through.
