Default turbo pump batt draw-solved

i'm chasing an excessive batt draw

unhooking the pos terminal, connecting a fluke dvm meter in series between the batt and connectorm the radio, interior ltets and turbo pump are the big draws.

eliminating the radio and interior lites i get to a 2a draw. yes, i'm on the ma scale.

after shutting the car off it runs 20-30 secs but the turbo pump is powered all the time, is it supposed to be?

If it's running nonstop after shutting the car off, the relay is probably malfunctioning.

with only the turbo pump fuse in, not radio and interior lites i was seeing 2.0

i was misreading the fluke dvm when i was pulling the fuses to find the hi draw.

the meter was auto ranging and i saw 2.0 and thought it was a/amps but was reading ma/milli amps.

so instead of seeing a 6a draw it was actually 6ma/milli amp draw, which is point of reference at clarks on the excessive draw ck.
