Default Pulled the dash out - odd discovery

Turns out I have alpine dome tweeters in each side vent. Anyone ever hear of that? Looks like they were there a long time. Unfortunately one of the POs terminated the ends at the audio system, put in a mere 2-channel amp in the back and then a butt ugly wood/carpet speaker enclosure. That was stolen out of the car last year, heck I would have probably given it away.

Nice to know I've got some xtra speakers, the problem is locating the stock wiring and getting them all hooked up to a proper amp.

ugh.

do you have the 10 speaker option? I know there are 3 in the doors, and one under each rear window... but to me, that counted as 8... if so, those could be the remaining 2?

A google search revealed this:

"85/2 944 onwards (M490 10 speaker system, M493 8-speaker system)

This system consists of a better quality head unit with an equalizer/booster in dash. Each door contains 3 speakers - a 5-1/2" woofer and a 4" midrange mounted under the armrest with a small tweeter mounted above the power window controls. Each rear quarter contains 2 speakers - a 6 1/2" woofer and a nn" midrange."

Stock speakers should be Blaupunkt, and likely not in the vents due to temp and condensation. Seems like an aftermarket install.

Stock speakers for the 10 speaker system (at least in the doors) are Nokia.

No 10 speaker option. Just one in each door and the one in each rear quarter by the rear seat.

Which PO had the sort of moment of genius though? The one who installed it, or the one who cut the connection so it wasnt connected to the radio system? ;p
