Default New 944 Turbo Owner

Hi Everyone... I'm new to the board and just purchased an 87 944 Turbo from a fellow rennlister... very clean and nicely maintained car... I'm located in the Louisville, Ky area and was wondering if anyone knew of a reputable place or person i could go to for mechanical needs when the time comes... also someone i could talk to about some additional mods down the road... I'm using the search to gain some basic insight on learning the in's and out's of our cars but of course it's always nice to talk to people on the phone or in person... any insight and info greatly appreciated ! also hoping to make some upcoming meets or events and start learning from other owners that way too.

Thanks

Hey! Congrats. If you want to know about mods then search will be very helpful. There are lots of places that you can get great stuff from, but unfortunately they aren't goingto be very close to you. Hope you enjoy the car! They are a blast!

Welcome to the bastard child 951 tuners. I've had many folks at PCA driving events come over and say, "I had no idea these cars were that fast!"

You are in for much fun with your new car. Glad to hear that it was in good shape. You will appreciate the previous owners care.

Welcome. There are a few "listers" in your area. I'm sure you will see them chime in soon. Take a look at the 924/944 board for the" 944 fest "posting. It might be just the thing to get you started on the P-car addiction. have fun, enjoy the car and use rennlist everyday. FRED

Nice place to live. I spent 7 years there, myself. As for shops, my recommendation would be Mike W. at The Winning Formula. Last time I visited him his shop was way out on Bardstown Rd., past E's Restaurant. Look him up. He's probably the best 944 mechanic in town.

Next would be Terry at Auto Motion. They're on east Broadway. A bit more expensive, but very good nonetheless.

Then there's Russ at Stein Automotive. They're on Taylorsville Rd., right across from the air field. They're very good, but probably the most expensive.

Enjoy the car! My favorite drive on sunny spring afternoons was River Road with the sunroof out.
