Default bypassing thermo-cooling valve?

I was just curious if anyone had any exeprience with bypassing the thermo-cooling valve that is located on the back of the cylinder head near the firewall? Basically by bypassing it there would be vacuum applied all the time as opposed to allowing the thermo-cooling valve to switch open and allow vacuum.

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks!

I know of at least 2 951s, mine and a buddy's that bypass that valve, with no obvious issues. There are alot of cars with those bypassed b/c they are usually brittle and the nipples break off.

What does this modification do? Why is it sought after?

I assumed this was the case. I am trying to figure out a poor idle condition and just ensuring this was not the cause. Feel free to check my next new post to add any comments on my concern.
