I still wish you would make some pressure plate bolts that were hex head instead of the stupid cheesehead bolts that are impossible to get out without stripping.

Best idea I have heard in awhile(well not really)... But even if you could take them out without stripping, would you really want to reuse them with all the time it took to get in there??

Nice stuff there Dan. I was just wondering on one of the process' for the studs being 'Chemically passivated' and was wondering who you were referring to? lol

How about making us an aluminum version of the black plastic turbo thermostat cover -- the factory design makes it just a matter of time before it warps and leaks. CNC aluminum please.

The chemical passivation is just a complicated way of saying they have been cleaned really well.

They get put in a tumbler and vibro-cleaned with some special citrus-based cleaner to perfectly clean the surface. The surface of stainless has sulfer from the cutting process, plus the tumbling removes and tooling marks and makes the finish shiny and uniform.

Basically, it's a quick and cheap way of making the parts perfectly clean and shiny.

Dan, just to let you know, I got the headers for the 924 yesterday. When I swap headers, I'll ship mine your way... but... I gotta get the turbo on the road first.

It's not about reusing them, its about getting them out while you are under the car. Drilling them out with the car up on jack stands is probably not the most fun you will ever have. Have them made out of the same material they are now and replace them each time you have to do a clutch job. Shouldn't be that many times.

Yeah, me too. I borrowed Billindenver's speed/ref sensor locating tool. amazing piece of work, simple to use, excellent construction, not very many moving parts, and sure as hell beats getting glue on your speed/ref sensors.

I like the flywheel bolt idea aswell. I recently did toms idea and had the plastic part of the waterpump made from alluminum. Only mines a blockoff plate for a dry turbo but probably wouldent have costed much more to add a pipe.
