Default Spare wheel too big and what about replacing fuel lines?

Hey guys, I just got home and I'm inspecting everything that was waiting for me. Well..the spare tire I have doesn't seem to fit. It's the red aluminum wheel with a 928 part number. I'll try to get pics of it up soon, but think it could be the wrong wheel? The hold down won't sit in the center of the wheel, and the carpet won't sit flush because it sits too high in the back...I was told it came straight out of a 951...

Also I need to replace the fuel line that runs from the damper back to the tank. How hard is it to replace? I've seen kits that give you a new section of rubber, but do you need to remove the entire line and have a shop install the rubber into the fitting? It seems kinda...painful...

Thanks guys!

Do you need to replace the hard fuel lines that run under the car, or just the lines that run from the fender well to the damper? If the latter, there are several painless options out there -- Lindsey, Pauerman, Rennbay, etc. -- which can be done in an afternoon. If you need to replace one, you might as well do all three (supply, return, and damper to fuel rail).

Thanks Whitt! Feels great to be home again and doing all the things I couldn't while over there. As for the fuel lines, it is the rubber part leeking, but it doesn't leak all the time. It seems to leak only when the car has sat for a while. After the car has idled for about 15 minutes it stops...I don't know why, but I don't want it leaking so I'm gonna change it. Thanks for the advice Tom!

Actually I do have some advice now that you wrote that. DO NOT run the car until the lines get changed. Use some of that bank roll and have the car towed to the shop. It will be a LOT cheaper than if the car catches fire.

I do all my own work, so since it's already at home I won't need to rack up any towing charges! I'm trying to decide if lindseys fuel line kit is the way to go...

On a different note, I'm having an issue with my cat bypass pipe...the end where you clamp it to the down pipe isnt flared, it's the same diameter...isn't it supposed to fit over the pipe, then clamp down? or does it just mate up to is and the clamp covers the connection? I'm thinking my stuff is screwed up...

My tire fits the same as yours. I forget how exactly I got it to fit, but it was something to the extent of loosely screwing in the tie-down bolt and then sliding the wheel down as far as I could, then tightening down. I noticed when I pulled the wheel out from sitting in the hole correctly for however many years when I got the car that there was a nice flat spot, so I know the wheel does sit down on the bottom of the well.
