Hey guys,
I found out my Shocks are blown (and going to replace all 4 corners). I talked to Chuck at Paragon today and got some answers. I thought I would do some more research but never really found an answer to one of my questions.
Since i have an '89 951 w/ the Mo30 suspension is it better to get them rebuilt or use the inserts.
[If i sent it into koni i would want just the rebuild (no revalve or external adj.)]
So would the front Koni sport inserts perform just as good as the MO30 front suspension?? (would i be able to use the same spring rates?)
If the MO30 is better then i dont care about the time it takes to get rebuilt
.
*oh the car is mainly street and will be used for some track days.

Send them to True Choice. Same as Koni but les then half the time. Excellent work & service. If you do the inserts you can never have them converted to double adjustable.

suspect they would be near equivalent.
- perhaps the shaft size on insert would be smaller than m030. I have M030 set here, but no insert for comparison.
definitely could use same spring rate
both retain rebound adjustability - don't know if any significant difference there either

Oh and one more thing i just thought of, would it just be better to by the Koni sports for the rear. Since its a BRAND NEW shock... (does rebuilding the rears cost the same as rebuilding the fronts??)

If you are going to rebuild the fronts, I'd do the same in the rears to keep the balance. Nothing wrong with rebuilt seeing as they will be back to new for less $$ and designed to work with the rest of the suspension tuning.
Just my $0.02.

I dont think koni or paragon would even consider cutting apart a koni M030 strut to install a koni insert - it makes no sense to do that. Have them rebuilt.

let us know how thing turn out.
I have original M030 struts in my Turbo S and know they need to be either replaced or repaired soon so what you learn is very valuable to me.
