Default After four months.. I have a car again.

I got the turbo back from Vitesse, popped it in and now I have a working screaming vehicle. Wow, the thing is really fast.. Its running rich, too.. I need to get on with tuning it now.

I also need to fix the TPS.. it hesitates/bucks just off of idle when the car's warmed up.

Here's a funny story.. As some of you guys know, its been one problem after another with this thing.. first the bent rod, then the clutch, then the turbo. Well, after I got it running, I had a really loud knocking sound, like metal hitting metal. I'm thinking oh sh*t, something else is wrong with my car now.

Well, the knocking sounded like it was coming from the front of the engine, down low. Based on that, I took the power steering pump belt off -- voila! The knocking went away. Anyways, turned out that two of the three bolts that attach the pully to the pump were loose. Tightened those up, put the belt back on, fired her up... no knocking! Awesome!! Whew, that was a relief.

I got it running yesterday, and spent today messing with the knocking sound/power steering pulley.. Then I washed/clay-bar'd/polished/waxed it, finished just before the sun went down. Now I need to detail the inside, but that can wait..

I just can't get over how fast this thing is.. First gear is just plain scary! Even in 5th on the highway, I barely touch the throttle and I'm up to 90-100 from 75 in just a few moments.

Oh! And on another note.. I got new tires. Yokohama AVS ES100's, 245/45/16 on all four corners.. They look awesome and grip very nicely.

I guess that's it for now.. Its so weird to have a running Porsche again.. I guess it'll sink in after a few days.

Yes, stage II. I have the old software, so probably 300-320 rwhp at 15psi.

I hate hearing stories about the Vitesse Stage II kit! Glad to hear your 951's back on the road.

For reference, my Stage II kit with a Lindsey 3" exhaust and dual port wastegate dyno'd at just a shade less than 350rwhp at 17lbs boost, without any tuning whatsoever.

Regards,

exactly
Vitesse Stage II/III kit would complete my need-for-speed mods. A little to costly at the moment though

Regards,
Cool! Do you have any other mods (head work, headers, IC, etc)? Also, that is with the chip-board, correct?

Going with the pack
is quite monotonous.
