Default CYLINDER HEAD STEAM VENT KIT

Looking for feedback from anyone who has one installed. Any head gasket issues after it was installed? How many miles, track time? What were the issues before it was installed, etc.. Not looking to open a theoretical debate.
Thanks

Do you use the heater in this car? Our track car: we took the outlet from the head that went to the heater valve, hosed that with a 2 sided hose barb tee x female (used the female part for an aux temp gauge install) and piped that back to the pipe over the exhaust manifolds, which returns to the water pump.

I just changed the head gasket after 4 years of track duty, sort of a maintenance check as I wanted to look at the cylinder walls.

No heater core, it's blocked off at the head, but I don't see how that would make much of a difference either way.

The water is flowing out of the back of the head at all times.

No head gasket issues, but I just installed a wildfire at the same time, no track times, just interstate times.....I was advised that it would do two things, keep the air pocket from getting under the head gasket, and you dont have to purge the air from the system, I can tell you the purge thing works, I have a hose break and it cleared the air on its own, also you can see the water running through the vent hose when the car is running.

I have one and you can see water coming out all the time... even right after starting it up. Havnt driven too many miles but no issues yet. Owner said he blew out a headgasket and his engine before installing one. Replaced motor and added steam vent kit. Said he hasnt had a problem since.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!

I JUST bled BlacknRedGT's car the other day when I was sick as a dog............didn't know the damned thing would bleed itself!!!!!

If that is the case, I will begin installing these things on my cars - that feature alone is worth the price of admission.

Ski is right for those 944 cars not using a heater the steam vent kit is pointless. The heater valve is closed most of the time so the water at the back of the head is not getting much flow through! This is what Lindsey is trying to sell to you, a way to improve flow at the back of the head! Its a good idea for street cars with heaters, but for those cars running no heater with a block off plate, your head is going to get HOT SPOTS!

wouldent it also work if you drilled and tapped a hole on the block off plate instead of having to take the head off to have drilled?
