Default Home brewed brake duct backing plates?

Ok I did do a search and pretty much all I came up with is the Broadfoot backing plates.

Has anyone fabricated their own backing plates? In my case the vehicle in question is an 89 and has the duct through the front of the car and the large scoope plates bolted to the strut but I want to go to actual ducting.

So any ideas?

These would be easy to make with the right tools.

My fabricator is in the process of making a pair for our race car. They will be thin aluminum. They will also be fully functional in that they will completely enclose the eye of the rotor then have a 3" duct connection. I believe OG used to have a similar design made of fiberglass which is no longer available.

You don't really need backing plates, just blowing lots of air into the eye/vanes of the rotor helps a bunch:

My bilstein Escort cups don't have the bracket that holds the air scoop, so i am planning on fabricating a pair next month.

Laust made a mold to build backing plates that I think he gave away some time ago, maybe somebody here still has it.
