How long to pull a 951 engine?
A friend of mine has a bad cylinder (rings - with scoring on the walls - sleeved engine) on his race 951 and now is going through the pain of possibly getting a shop to fix it. A friend and myself have volunteered to fix the engine if he can get it over to us. Does anyone know what the book rate is to pull the engine? We figure that he's probably looking at $2000 CAD in parts tops and if the cost to R&R the engine isn't too bad we might be able to talk him into going this route.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If I am are doing control arm bushings, ball joints, and struts at the same time as the engine, does it make it any easier to pull the engine by dropping the control arm assemblies first? Seems like there might be more room to work with like that.

If you take out the transaxle and push the torque tube back it saves a significant amount of aggrivation and only adds about 45 minutes to the swap time. Then if you want you can just set the front crossmember down on a movers dolley, leave the wheels on and jack the car up over it. By far the easiest method I've run across (it's what I used in the carnage thread).

Agree with all of this, but if it has never been removed stubborn bolts will add a lot of time to the process. Experience on a few of the bits, like the cross over helps a lot!
