What did you sell (or buy) your 951 S for?
I'm curious to see real world prices for good condition turbo S's... Of course we think they're all super valuable , but really what are they worth in the real-world market?
I did a Kelly Blue Book search, and they claim the private party price on a "good" car is $6500. They say the dealer price on an "excellent" car is $8500.
Looking at completed ebay auctions, it looks like several stock-ish (no serious mods) '88 and '89 turbo S's have sold in the neighborhood at $8k.
So, let's start a poll, that way you don't have to disclose who you are or which car you bought/sold.

March 2004 I paid $15000 for my clean black '88 Turbo S w/ 67k miles and minimal mods. It now has 96k and has had no problems, except for sunroof gear replacemrent, heater clip, and battery (2 yrs ago).

I bought mine as a very nice, but not perfect stock car in 1997 for 12.5k It had 90k on it then. It has required little maintence and no major repairs (other than a clutch) over 10 years and 40k miles.

The day I went to look at it, another guy was there, saying, "But, there's a scratch on the fender here, and this trim piece looks a little crooked, and why are you asking $3k more than most of the 944 turbos out there?"
I said, "You're the original owner? You have every receipt since new? Here's a deposit. A test drive? No, that won't be necessary, I want the car!"

Like anything else it really gets down to how much you want the S model. I paid 12k for mine knowing it needed about 4k of work to restore it. I wonder how many S models are left.

I bought my 87 951 in 1993 for 10k excellent condition and low miles. I wrecked it in April 2002 and insurance gave $9800 for the car. Not bad in my book after almost 10 years of ownership. I've always wanted the turbo S so I searched the whole country for one since there was non in Calif. Nearest one was in Seattle for 16k which was in excellent condition both cosmetic and mechanical. The car did not need anything other than a new air filter.

KBB has inaccurate estimates for 951S. For insurance purposes, I keep handy my Excellence magazine (pretty accurate) and PCA valuation estimate (tends to be high).
Back in 2004, I picked up my '88 Silverossa for $8k with 100k miles. Seller was in the process of getting married and had too many Porsche's (4 of them, and only a 3-car garage). The only issue was the cracked dash. I also have reasons to believe it is one of the very first ones (have yet to encounter a lower VIN or 'born on date').
Last summer, I also picked up a low-mileage '89 951 that needs some body work for $6.5k as a future project car (not listed in my signature b/c its not ready to be commissioned for service). It came from Legoland951, who has far too many Porsche's....
