So to clarify, does this mean that the installation instructions that come with the product are wrong or can be easily misinterpreted? I'm about to take receipt of the fully optioned 'Z' and don't want to be chasing our tails installing it. Thanks.

Sorry guys, I agree the other wire is preferable, and have been meaning to update the instructions. Having said that, either wire should work since they terminate in the same place (i.e., they are connected).

*UPDATE*

I had a chance to move the zt2 to the green/black pin #21 wire yesterday which cleaned up the RPM reading considerably. I have ruled out any noise or shielding issues with my install.

Per Mr. Vitesse's recommendation, I also tied in the blue zt2 line to DME pin 7, as Tom did in his write up.

Sam and Tom, I hope you have updated your write-up's to include this revision!

Yeah tell me about it....
I was told twice by a very respected parts supplier that the piston rings I had purchased from them where the correct one's to use in a NIkasil block.

Ready to install motor going over my notes decided to check one more time and now they tell me I have the wrong rings..

Needless to say I was just a tad upset...

Stay cool and have another drink I did..

Oppsssss, Sorry for the High Jacking...

I am using a TOTAL SEAL 2nd ring and the top and oil ring are from a 9XX turbo?
I don't know exactly however I was assured by the tech guy at TOTAL SEAL that the rings are for NIkasil ...I confirmed with TOTAL SEAL that the TOP ring (202861 ) Is the best available for my application which is standard 100mm Nikasil bore.

(see attached for all the numbers)
He was adamant that the ring edge CANNOT be made of chrome..
And none my rings appear to be chromed (see attached)

Hope this helps..

BB do you have a Nikasil Block? The stock 951 is Alusil and I think the Alusil requires a different ring material.

#1 951 rings are chrome plated on the top face, not edge. Blocks are Alusil not Nikasil.

Thanks for the notes on the ZT2 wiring, have one in a box that I will be installing within the next month or so - this thread will be helpful.
