All the venturi delete does is simplify the vacuum line routing. Most people either buy a 'purdy' colored silicon hose kit from a vendor. I just bought 13' of heavy wall 5/32" ID vac tubing at NAPA for $8.00. Most people also bypass the cycle valve and run a manual or electric boost controller. There are a few hoses you should replace while the intake manifold is off such as running a direct line from the OAS to the J-boot rather than though that stupid German Hookah pipe mess of tubing. Try to get either the OE or aftermarket 90 deg. elbow hose at the top of the OAS. Those things are always hardened up and leak. A search on 'venturi delete' will give you enough info to do it right the first time. BTW: The Welt chips do not control the boost (especially 19 psi ), the shim for the WG in the Welt chip set does that. The Welt chips are usually mapped for 15psi max so you must be dangerously lean at 18-19 psi...be careful or you'll be doing more than a venturi delete at those levels.

Thankyou so much for the info. Thank you also for clarifying the chip set. I am a little confused though on the PSI setting. When I bought the chips and of course the shim for the waste gate I went from 15psi to 18-19psi. This has always been a constant for roughly 2.5 years with absolutely no problems what so ever. The last time I had my car dynoed (before I ran into this boost problem) I ran 239 whp and 279 ft/lbs. I thought that the stock 944 Turbo was set at 15psi stock. Is this accurate? I ask this because this is all I'm running right now. I am going to go through all of the hoses and the suggestion that all of you made though.

Have you tried the WG-CV line + clamp test?

I have a similar problem because of a faulty KLR. The battery tray leaked water onto the KLR and fried it. SAY...

ANYONE HAVE A 24pin KLR FOR SALE?

Not to threadjack, but is there anything wrong with leaving the metal pipes in? I was thinking it would look somewhat cool powdercoated, but if there is an actual difference without them I'd get rid of them.
