Default Did I kill my TPS?

Guys, I searched, I'm 90% sure it's the TPS, but I wanna be 100%...

back story... today, I did the belt tension, as well as washed the car... I washed the engine too...

Anyway, I then decide to go on a photo shoot (those pics will come soon) and put the car through it's paces, as it's been a hell of a long time that I've done any performance driving... let alone in the turbo.

So, I get to it. I put 70 miles on the car in about an hour and a half, not doing much more than driving around, stopping to take pics, to smoke, or whatever.

On the way back, I'm on C-470 and I'm about to pass someone, I step on it. WOT, and the engine cuts... I'm thinking "Damn, is it overboosting?" Nope. 14 PSI when it did that, and IIRC, Vitesse chips don't stop overboost.

So... I'm driving around more, get off the freeway, and for diagnostic purposes, go WOT again, and again, it cuts... I finally get home, and in the driveway, from idle, I again, go WOT, and again, it cuts off and nearly stalls. I then go inside, sit down at my computer, and type this message after using the search function to see what happened with those before...

I'm guessing it's either the TPS or the AFM, but either way, I'm going to pull off the connections and verify that they're dry.... your input?

I dunno... it wasn't doing it at first, and it'll boost, damn well, and then when I push the pedal just that extra little bit to WOT, it'll cut. it's at WOT only... and it'll do that no matter where the revvs are. like I said, Idling in the driveway to WOT, it cut...

It also doesn't sound like a pissed off snake under the hood...

and I made damn sure to tighten every clamp when putting it back together...

Keep the car in a warm area for a couple of days, it might go away. In which case it is water getting into an electrical connector.

Geoff,

I have one that I took apart and cleaned, it went back in the car and worked fine. Before I cleaned it I had a horrendous delay on pressing the throttle. I eventually bought a new one just to feel better about it.

At any rate you can have it if you want to try it. PM me your address if you want it.

Guys, I'm still kinda new to the turbo thing... so I want to check and re-check my options..

if it was a boost leak, wouldn't:
1) I hear a hissing sound?
2) this missing not be intermittent?
3) it have not resolved itself? (as in the case with a wet electrical component which dried itself)

My bet is also with the TPS :x

This 'cut' - how long does it last? If you let off, it goes back to normal, right?

If so, then yeah, my bet is the TPS.

it's fixed itself now... but when it was acting up, yes, if I let go of WOT, then it'd be normal...
