Does anyone have a picture of the rear of a 951 with 285-295s on it? I would like to see how they look with that wide a tire set up on it.
Here is the web site of a friend of mine who is a member on here. He runs on his 1987, with rolled fenders, 225/40 and 295/35 PZero Corsa Pirellis. He has Factory Carerra Lightweights from an '02 996, got them from Wheel Enhancement too. He didn't use spacers, it doesn't rub, it's so low that his car won't clear a beer can laying on it's side. He runs full coil-overs with no torsion bars and 550# frt and 700# rear springs.
EDIT: I haven't talk to him lately, but it looks like to me he could have went a little bit bigger in the rear too. I'm going to try and get in contact with him and ask.
ok- Winslow is the man. Anyone that knees the Rock in the ***** and says "now be good" gets my award for Hero of the Day. Love his car, wish he would get it back together and get off the damn boat for a minute.
oh and i got my old tires back- sold them and guy never used them- firestone sz50's- i figure i'll burn these up a bit on the track before i get real tires....
ok moment of truth- heres what it comes down to. 86 951 early offset. I used a set of bolt on 25mm front spacers and the fronts fit perfectly 18x8 235 tires. The rears are tricky. I put on the supplied 8mm spacers on the rear and the drivers side fit very well on either side, but the ps was rubbing the wheel well. Now i have some camber in the rear so this is understandable. I just ordered a set of slip on 15mm rear spacers hubcentric w/ longer studs so that should put them in just the right spot. Enjoy!
