Just so we can perhaps stop intardnet rumors before they start, correct me on this if I'm wrong John.

Due to a significant increase in some parts and labor costs, the current, standard Stage I and Stage II (they all have the quick spool option standard) are very probably going to be discontinued unless Vitesse can find an equally qualifed supplier. EVERYTHING ELSE is business as usual.
Is that right John?

Thank you Ehall, well said. I would add to it, that Stage 1 and 2 might remain as a product, just much more expensive and as a custom order only!.

Why would some one order a stage one or two if they can have a stage 3 for less.

That wasn't the case until now. Depending on the individuals application, they may want earlier spool but a bit less up top. Either way, it will be available if someone does want it.

As Ehall stated. The S2 is for someone wanting the lowest spoolup possible, yet capable of making serious power. The S3 is very responsive about 200-300rpm in later spoolup, but is capable of making LOTS of power..

Till the turbos on hand are gone, I am not raising the prices. Even though I already know that replacing the units will cost me much more.

Things don't look good for Stage 2.
It looks that once the in stock units are sold, that's it. I have been trying to get few more turbos, but it's not looking good.

If you have been wanting a Stage 2, get it while you can.

Sorry for bumping an older thread, but Im still wondering about what to do for my eventual 951 purchase. I had always pictured myself ordering the Vitesse S2 kit as soon as I bought a 951, and now Im back-pedaling and looking for another solution.

John, how much more power at a given boost level (say 18psi) is the S3 going to produce over an S2? I actually researched this question on your site before asking it, and could see that both the S2 and S3 are capable of 341whp, but the S3 produces it at 17psi, and the S2 just says pump gas... Is it really just a matter of the S2 running out of breath at higher rpms whereas the S3 is really starting to shine?

I didnt know spool was only increased by ~200 rpms with the S3 kit over the S2...that makes the S3 way more appealing than I had previously thought!

Go to a 3 liter and get the stage 5. RWHP is addictive, might as well go for the highest grade smack you can the first time around

This would be a car I can leave closer to stock. 340whp would be more than enough in this car. I am having my M3 Turbo tuned this coming week after the installation of an AEM standalone and 75# Injectors and am hoping for 550whp @ 18psi.

Hopefully having the M3 be ludicrous will allow me to enjoy a 951 thats reasonably modified that much more!

in my opinion the S3 is an improvement over stock spool, just with the S3 on my car it was an animal. i got Patrick(333pg333) and Rod(thingo) to back me on that one. i was a little worried about spool(a little) but when the kit finally went on the car i realised i was worried about nothing! Johns MAF and chips make the so much more driveable off boost that when you put your foot down it revs quicker to where it starts building boost. what im trying to say is that for a 2.5 the stage 3 kit is more then streetable.

RogueM3, I like your M3, what year DME are you using? If possible, email me some info on your conversion, interesting project.

On pump gas, both S2 & S3 should yield about the same power (S3 maybe 5-8% more). Peak numbers are just one part of the equation. The area under the curve is just as important. Both turbos are very responsive (s2 a bit more). Once you cross the 380-400rwhp mark (not pump gas), S3 keeps going, while S2 is getting close to the its limit.

As mentioned earlier, due to cost increase S2 is a custom order, and the price is quoted at the time of the order. S3 price will be going up as well, as soon as the on the shelf units are sold or on the 10th.
For now, I have one S2 turbo which was traded in by a customer going to a Stage 5.
I also have two Stage 3 in stock.

If you need additional information, feel free to email me directly.
