Really sorry about the car, my cars fall pretty close (too close) behind my family and health in order of importance and I would be sooo pissed, it's good your able to do a little "venting" here as we all can relate. I would say to focus on a new project, as it might be cool to figure up your next dream car!

perhaps the scumbag(s) were looking to keep it--hence the tint/stickers--when they realized how much heat was being brought down in the search for the car--abandoned the plans and decided to part it--makes me wonder if they are lurking here.

Sorry for your loss,I don't think they wanted the car for parts, but it seems that someone was out for a vendetta.

The tint was most definately not professional, a blind alcoholic with the shakes could have done a better job of it.
The stickers were of a "Univesity of Colorado" and a "bulldog". And for all you conspiracy theorists out there, I own a bulldog. Too bad I didn't leave him in the car as a theft deterrent. He's a 67 pound Pain Train. Whooo. Whooo.
Got quote for new color matched Fuchs for $2,960. That should help total it out.

It was abandoned about 2 miles from where it was stolen. it was in the impound lot for 6 days before they tracked me down as they took the vin# out of the car and engine compartment.

So many comments similar to this about "who would do what if the person was caught"...then the person IS caught RED handed, posted all over the news, tried, convicted of his SECOND theft offense, and THEN he returns to RENNLIST to argue his point...
and nothing happens.

Do you want to try to get it going again, or just total it? It will never be as nice a car - but I started with worse than that so it could be done, maybe even for less than than the car is worth (despite what insurance might say.) Dont get all caught up on revenge. That guy bought his ticket to hell anyways.
