I will let Karl verify the veracity of the statements I am about to make, but I understand that a Racer's Edge failed on a customer's car this weekend. The arm came from the same batch of arms that I purchased. The failure was a result of a defective weld. I understand that this doesn't look like a widespread problem, but you can't take chances on something like this. I understand that Karl would like all of the arms from this back in order to have the welds X-rayed for flaws and repaired or replaced if necessary. I don't know anything more.

Karl is working this as a top priority and I know he'll do the right thing. If I were in need of control arms, I'd call Karl without hesitation - he's a great racer & person.

On Friday, Feb 9th, a racer at the PCA Sebring club race did suffer a failure of one of my RE A-arms. It was an infant mortality in the sense that the arm was brand new and it failed on approximately the 20th lap. Both the customer and the car were fine save a small amount of damage to the lower front fender. I was at the track and arrived at the customers paddock area as the car was being lowered off the tow hook. Upon initial inspection it was obvious the unit failed at the rearwardmost weld joint. The joint looked to be improperly prepared and suffered from lack of heat penetration.
I immediately called the facility that assembles the units to discuss the problem and decided at that time to contact all the customers who had received units from the batch of products that the failed unit came from. I did this from the track and had contacted every customer that had A-arms from that batch within a couple of hours. Over the last few days I have had a number of meetings to decide upon the next course of action and I now believe that I have defined a solution to insure that this never happens again.
I will be issuing a general recall of the product in order to modify the units in the field. Future arms will be made to this new specification as well. If anyone has any questions please feel free to call me.

Good work mate, that is one hell of a responsible attitude and good organisation to be able to contact everybody within a couple of hours.
Major manufacturers suffer recalls so the same is going to happen top specialists too. I sincerely hope this episode does not cost you too much
Cheers
