Mount it sideways. See pic in thread. It is a good light battery.

Best battery on the market for our cars. Mount it sideways. I just bought a new one last year. Blue top Marine. Last one was a red top. Lasted for 6 or 7 years in las vegas where most batteries don't even make the two year warranty as the heat saps them quickly. Couple that with the electrical draws our cars are known for and that's a long time for a battery.

you might want to consider other high quality battery makers like Kinetik and Odyssey - those two are usually considered the cream of the crop amongst the competition car audio guys

Aeronautica is right along with Stinger. Thing is car audio batteries are phoenomenal but when electrical draws come into play, they fall short. Either that or I just got four bum stingers. That's how many I went through from my stereo shop with my custom install in my Porsche. They finally shook their head, gave up and threw in an Optima.
Don't go the hard way and put one in your spare space. That's where your sub goes. Just kidding. The Optimas come with a side post option, you can still mount it straight up. It's not a big deal. It's a gel cell battery. You can mount it upside down if you like.

What about dry cell batteries? There are some incredibly light weight ones that will hold a charge for years and vibrations are not an issue.

Thanks for sharing that Joe. Good to know pal. I'll talk with Chris and see what he thinks. So, the girlfriend is still on that avatar too!

I really look forward to it. Not to hijack but on your thread, do you have an idea of what kind of power you want out of it? I'll look there for an answer. See ya guys...

I've toasted 3 Optima red tops in 4 years. They don't do well when stored without a trickle charger. And yes, I disconnected them from the vehicle.

That said, I keep getting free replacements since they come with a 3 year warantee.
