Default My car took a dookie

How it all started:

Normally you can eat off my shop floor.....not so much during this job though. What a messy pig.

Out with the PS rack. Its nice when your motor mounts are shot, you can just rip the crossmember off the engine mounts, lol.

And after a lot of scrubbing. Another day, and it will be ready for paint.

Ignore the improper tie rod boot, ordered the wrong one for that side, and i need to be able to roll the car around the shop.

After a little of this and a little of that, this will find it's way in"

That engine looks gorgeous! And I love the color of the car, too! How much power will it end up putting out?

That was not what I was expecting to see with that title LOL.

I had my car on the dyno once and just as the operator let off the gas on a 3rd gear run we heard this plop sound and what looked like a pile of dookie appeared under the rear of the car. It was pretty funny. Turned out to be a CV boot once we were brave enough to poke it with a stick and inspect it closer.

After putting so much work into rebuilding/cleaning/painting the engine, I wouldn't want to drive it and mess it up! Looks awesome though!

Thanks for all the kind words fellas, this car has come a long way from when I picked her up.

Performance products, (Colgan) IIRC they are in the 100-120 range. HIGHLY worth it, I love them. We bib everything in the shop (mostly 911's, so we have used Colgan bibs for years), these are the first ones I tried for the 951, and they are very high quality. Money well spent.

I am going to break the engine in with the stock turbo, then slowly start turning it up. I haven't decided which route to go with on this car, I am thinking about keep the stock turbo, doing a MAF, piggyback, etc on it. If I do that, I will be happy in the 260-270whp range.

The other option after breaking it in, is to put on a bigger turbo, maf, piggyback, etc. I now have the other turd of an engine to rebuild, so I may save that for a big build.

I'm indecisive to say the least. I walked into the shop yesterday with the intention of cleaning the floors from all the snow and ice we have tracked in, and just decided to pull the engine instead, lol.
