skene: the catch was that in my searching I was starting to see that my list of goodies wasn't going to make 400+ rwhp w/o expensive gas and high boost
I'm positive that ST was running higher boost and race fuel to get the 400+ rwhp figure. I've been told that 340 rwhp at 16-18 psi for the Vitesse Stage III on pump gas is most common. I made a little over 300 rwhp at 15 psi with mine.

hahaa... my "vendor war garbage" might have been over the top..

I just imagined people suggesting vendors to get those parts at less expensive prices and other people recognizing the prices as the price of there fave vendor.. and so on...

... sounds like another edit is in order... j/k

on topic, keep your eyes open for someone selling a good used EBC.

Also, Vitesse Racing typically has a sale on MAF kits twice a year, unfortunately you just missed one. Be patient and you can save several hundred $$ with used equipment.

Yes - good luck making 400 rwhp at under 16 psi without some *serious* mods. I made 280 rwhp at 15 psi with mine (dyno dynamics dyno). Don't ask how much it cost to get to that level of performance

Wasn't that a January sale on stealth MAF kits?

Yes it was, 2 Jan.

I was one of John's sales that got me to jump the gun on my modding plans. That afternoon there was one of two stII kits still available and I remember thinking that I really wasn't ready to drop $2k on the car (you know, injectors, EBC, FPR, etc). I caved ...

You guys have fun with MAF sensors...

You could make over 450whp for $1050 *including cost of new fuel pump+Ignition* but it would be temporary power and I am not sure about the 951 intake manifold because I don't have any idea on where the nozzles could be fitted.

That being said I am sure thats not what you are looking for but seriously. The cheapest way to make the power you are looking for is by making something yourself. I would have to think that MegaSquirt, Injectors, DBB 50trim, fuel pump, custom intercooler, BOV, Wastegate and some other small custom fabrication and you would have yourself 340whp without problem for far less then you talked about.

...good timing Fish!

Speaking of home crafting, a Laust style h2o injection at the intake runners and crank the boost up to 20-22... most likely where my gains will come from next.

No, He called me out on it.

I think the community might benefit if ST would please inform me on what he is talking about. That way I will focus my reply towards that and give him the needed information to revise his post.

I will give some respect if you have a 2.5 liter 8 valve 450 RWHP nitrous dyno.

Pretty close. First overbore pistons so the displacement might be 2.55 or something like that, lightened crank and flywheel but otherwise internally everything else is stock 1989. The heads are stock as is the cam.

Externally I have a test pipe, SFR exhaust, Tial 46 mm wastegate, 75 lb injectors, 3 bar regulator, Forge BOV, Vitesse Stage III with MAF & Chips, Greddy Boost Controller and probably a few things I am forgetting.
