Um, so 8v or 16v? Spending as much money as possible is certainly one way to do it. I wish I had a $140k budget! I'd buy a 993 RSR, throw some plates on it and use that as a daily! So are you going to be using some much more expensive and cool things like a Tilton twin or triple carbon/carbon clutch, built gearbox with custom gear ratios, etc etc? Honestly I really can't see how everything could add up to even close to $140k. I'd figure past ~$70-80k you'd have to really try to spend more by using wiggins clamps on everything, expensive goodridge kevlar hoses, an fittings for everything, etc.

Well concerning the costs - a bunch of it is in the chassis and body work. Probably around 80-90 on motor and other bits. I'm pretty much going to go to Chris with a blank sheet and we'll go from there. No details about that until we get there and are building it. There will be a few large deviations from our current plan. Again, this isn't to "top" anyone or claim some title - this is to see what can be done when money isn't an object.

At the risk of being exiled.......
have you thought about V-8 power
**(hands covering face and head)**
you could get easy over the 1000hp mark and maintain street manners with that budget
I would go chevy myself.
OK, you can all stop throwing rotton fruit...... just sayin

If I did think about that (took a hard look at the kelly moss GTR) it would be with a Porsche V8. But that would just bastardize the car - however it would be kind of cool. I think i'm sticking to the 4 cyl though - after all, if i don't use a 951 motor - its not a 951 now is it?

Lorax: If this had full factory support and "love" I think we would have seen a much better product although the originals were nothing to sneer at with close to 600 bhp for a track car with rules.
Althought a twin turbo V8 does sound attractive....hahah, just kidding.

HEHEHE "bastardize"...... yeah - I would molest the **** out of it in a second. Theme would certainly change........ but it would be some cool **** to see a 1000HP pump gas and 1300-1400+ race gas 944 that could dual purpose street/race.
There is a local guy running a 6.0 chevy twin turbo - in low boost (pump gas) mode he maxes out the chasis dyno (850hp) with 1500rpm left. I could only imagine that combo in a 944 ZOWIE!!! But you are correct. Not so much in common with a 91 at that point.
I say go real exotic - electromagnetic valve actuation - no cam(s) timing belt, etc..... never been done...... although the R&D would kill even your budget.

Haha, nice one 2bridges - even with that kind of power it would almost never get used.
Lorax: Yes to make it lighter and lower. I want to match the performance and appearance of the GTR in every way I can and still have it legal for PCA racing.
