Is there any reason this 1989 Turbo has a 1986 dash?

Rick, how could you tell? I not a dash expert and must have over looked it.

There's no airbag in the passenger side of the dash which was standard on an '89.

While many people have done the airbag wheel removal, swapping out the entire dash to eliminate the passenger airbag seems like overkill. A legitimate question now should be asked, is this really an '89 or is it an '86? A fairly detailed description of modifications done to the car were all listed (including the rather insignificant but cheesy carbon fiber arm rest cover) why would a change like this be ommitted if it was actually swapped? If I was interested in this car I would ask very pointed direct questions which I won't post here as I have no desire to insult the seller. I would also want to know the car's history prior to 1996.

A well taken care of car with only 51k miles doesn't get dash cracks.

All valid points my friend. I owned a mint condition 1989, and now have an 1988 Turbo S. Both with low mileage on them, and neither with any cracsk at all, like none. It's very rare you see a car with low miles (yes it can happen) that has a cracked dash too.

My '89 has neither air bags in wheel or dash but probably different in OZ. Besides if you hit a Kangaroo at any real speed you're stuffed anyway!

maybe airbags weren't standard on all ROW cars? this car is in canada.

as for the 320hp thing, it says RWHP, and also he does say that it has a K27 turbo (along with maf/software/injectors), so 317rwhp is reasonalble.

Airbags were not standard on Canadian models in 1989. All the Canadian 89s I have seen did have ABS though.
