The cam housing and oil pan were powder coated. Also had the crossmember done in gloss black. Intake manifold is coated with cermakrome.

The block went through several steps, pressure washer, wire wheel and a hot tank for final clean.

I also had another local Rennlister (F1rocks) do some yellow zinc plating on the heat shields/etc.

I'm happy with the way it looks..now the part where it runs..

Very nice, I'm in the process of doing the same. What aluminum cleaner did you use?

Wow! I'm jealous! I wish I could take my engine apart and really clean it up. Who knows, I need to change the oil pan gasket, maybe I can just yank it out! Lookin' GOOD! I can't wait to see it in the car!

Nothing special. It's all been(and/or):

a) wirewheeled
b) blasted
c) pressure washed
d) hot tanked

The head was gone through by a local shop, DG Motors with a 5-angle valve job.

There's a widefire gasket under the head and the crank has been perp drilled.

As you can see the pan gasket isn't on yet, F1rocks has my oil pickup in for reinforcing - should have it back this week (thanks).

Thanks for the nice comments!

Before my great uncle passed, he was a very big member as well as a driving instructor. He would always take his beautifully modded 1969 911S to Brainard. It was blue, and pretty loud. Did you ever hear his name? It was Paul Binek. He passed away in 2001 I remember watching a video my dad was recording of him going around Brainard. He was standing over the track, and people would hear his car and say "here comes Paul." I don't know what his lap times were, but they were up there. I'll see if I can find a picture of him and his car.

Correct me if i am mistaken.

Those exhaust manifold gaskets should be turned around, basically the steel side faces the headers and the carbon side (currently shown) faces the cylinder head.

Nice though!

Good story, I haven't been a NS member for long. This is the first I've been a PCA member, and it's the second Porsche I've owned.
