Default Orlando 951 track car FS: I now this guy

This is a well known shop and racer (Nort) in Orlando.

Although he is known for being high on asking prices.

Nort doesn't do stuff inhouse anymore?

Does he use someone in Orlando?

Gary Stratton of Stratton MotorSports in Winter Park.
Nort does have the guys at his shop maintain his car, and Gary fixes all those poor fenders and front valances that he smacks.

Oh yea duh!!

For some reason I always think that Gary and Nort parted and stopped all association with each other.

I agree with you Todd, great to see the prices climbing here. Some of those cars have an amazing lack of mileage too!

Nort still tells everyone the HE built his car. I do remember him sanding on it last year when Gary repainted it thought. This is a cheap shot, but Nort does know that the wheel lugs are 17mm, LOL!

Barely! I remember when I bought my first watercooled porsche, I had Nort do a buyers inspection since I had little Porsche experience back then. He told me flat out that it had a cylinder with 0 compression. He just happened to have another 951 for sale though if I would rather look at it. The car I had brought in ran so well I knew he was blowing smoke so I had redbone look it over. Nothing wrong with it naturally.

Redbone are the kings of 951 in the orlando area. I still call back there once in a while if I have a far fetched question. Robin is the man...used to wrench on the factory 951 effort...back when Porsche used to race cars. I fly back to florida for a track event once or twice a year to hang with the boys and I always drop by Redbone or see Robin at the track to tip a beer or two. Very cool guys and with more Porsche knowledge than most can claim. With them in town I wouldn't glance at Norts for service....or purchase with his prices.

Anyway....

Default The Crew!

Here's a pix of us at the '04 LeMans Classic. From left to right is Gary Stratton Stratton MotorSports) Robin Reddy (Redbones Garage) and me Steve Edmonds (Stratton MotorSports). Gary and Robin are the real deal and their reputations are well known and respected. Me, hell I just got carried!
Oh yea, the car finished 3rd!
