Why you'd ever want the spend the money on a Cayenne engine is beyond me. The LS1 is an easy swap, fits fine, makes tons of power, is easily upgradable and revs higher than most people's 944 engines. Seems like a win win to me.

Would be even more fun! Or perhaps the V6 for space reasons.
But I haven't been able to find any relevant info about the Cayenne engines.

Then you're wasting money, dreaming about an engine swap.

I agree - much better engine.
The 928 is better suited for a boat anchor.

I bet I could convert one to burn diesel - it would probably be much happier.

LOL! Should cross-post that to the 944-versus-928-war thread.

That is the car I was referring to, but I recall seeing it on the KMR website some time ago.

Yes, it's mostly a tubeframe car but it's still a 944 silhouette with a Weissach/Stuttgart V-8 in it. I'd hit it ( if it was turbo'd that is).

Its not our fault that the germans didn't learn to make good motors until recently.

And LS1 is a Chevrolet engine Not made in Germany. Or should we consider Chevrolet almost european since Louis Chevrolet was a Swiss.....

Oh, did I leave that part out? Yeah, american cars are the best built ones on the road.
