Interesting drive home from work... MAX BOOST 1 PSI!!!!
(that's because I didn't let it get any higher)
I drove the turbo S to work today... and I knew it was supposed to snow today... weather man said around 10 PM... at lunch, I look west, and see the stom clouds growing... I thought I should go home and get the 924S, then decided a burger sounded like a better plan... Well, about an hour and a half after lunch, it starts snowing... no big deal, it's not sticking. don't go outside again until work is done, and whoops. the roads are white. 951 has Toyo Proxes RA/1's on it. Goody.
so I drive home...slowly as hell. I re-set the peak boost meter, and saw 1 psi as peak...
fairly uneventful, except when I was geting off the freeway (which hadn't been plowed yet. huzzah for CDOT) and downshifted, and went a little sideways... nobody was around thank god, and I very quickly got the car back under control...
But once again, the 951 proves to be able to do more than I thought it could. What a great car!

yeah. CDOT deserves a beating...
Oh, and don't get me started on Magnesium chloride... their "snow/ice melt" that is not effective under 17 degrees, and they use liberally which results in a skating rink the next morning...
Tomorrows drive is gonna suck....

Hehe, drove mine back from WI in mid Feb with so-so all seasons, and a ruptured BOV. Turbo was on -- or turbo was off, and not much room inbetween.
Guess that'll teach ya to ignore the forecast.

So far, twice, most recent was when I learned the joys of throttle-induced oversteer on an onramp with my boss in the lane to the left of me...
went into work the next day, she's like, "Damn, that was a nice slide on the onramp! good work! do you do that often?"
"Uh, no. that scared the **** outa me. I had such an intense butt-pucker that I farted a sofa"
The first time, was when I drove it on the track (it was Dad's then) and I went into a corner way too hot, and spun it. Grass runoffs are your friends.

What are you doing driving a car like that in snow?!?! What's wrong with you? Go get a beater - like a 911.
(sorry, gotta' give it up for the watercooled guys here a bit)
Anyway, it's nice and snow-free out here. . . Want to go for a nice spirited ride-on-boost?
Actually, have to replace the knock sensor this weekend, boost is currently capping out at 1.2 bar in "limp home mode" returning blink code 2-2 (knock sensor). When I put a ohmmeter on it it gives infinite resistance, so I'm fairly certain it's cooked. New one is on order and should be in today or tomorrow - hopefully that'll remedy the problem and I'll be back up to stock boost after that. Gonna' start the sick mods soon. I've got a MAP kit and EBC in the garage that are just teasing me, to say nothing about that big turbo. . . But I might actually go bigger than that.
