These are some head lights I recently got around to finishing. They are made from GT racing buckets, brackets and covers; Hella 50mm xenon modules high beam and low beam; 6 inch L.E.D. turn signals and custom made brackets.
Making the brackets turned out to be easy enough and I even got really lucky with mounting points on the GT racing brackets. The 50mm modules are a tight fit but fit very well. They are a great product and adjust very well which turned out to be lucky for me because the GT racing buckets and brackets fit so poorly. Lucky for me as well there are hardware bins at work because nothing came with them or could be reused. The brackets had to be bent allot to make them fit. This took hours of test fitting them taking them out test fitting them again and over and over. The fit of the lens is awful as well, it took a while to get them as close to right as possible them I added some self taping screws to the bottom where there is otherwise nothing holding them down. Once I got them all in and wired I tried to close the hood and found that about 3/8 of an inch needed to be trimmed off of the hood.
Now that they are all in I am happy with them, I like the look and the light out put quality has increased hugely. Up close the gaps from the buckets and lens don't look great. Here are some pics:

Looks good, dmoffitt ran a very similar setup on his car, except with 90mm HID's, same ones I have no mounted in my bumper. Another lister ended up with his old setup with H9 90mm Hella's.

Yes looks great so far. Sounds like a hassle to get them in but great results. It's a pity that many things we buy for our cars require so much alteration to make them work. Why don't these people just do it right before they sell them to us????

Your setup is very similar to what I am planning, especially the 50mm Hellas - did you get those from rallylights.com? (thanks for the tip on that one Mike) I currently have the 90mm H9 Hella setup that Mike aluded to. Are you planning on fabbing a panel up to cover the 'guts' of the assembly, or just leaving the bracketry exposed? Where did you mount the ballasts?
I like how the Swedes did their lexan covers a while back - not sure if you saw those - they slide into a channel built into the header panel, leaving no gaps. Would like to see some underside shots of that header panel.
Regardless, nice job.
