What if you let people pre order and put down a deposit of half. That way you could still give the little bigger discount and it wouldn't be so much out of pocket up front.

Just a thought.

Not a bad thought, but I don't want to sit on other people's money waiting for product, and I'd still have to come up with the other half. If I'm going to tie up somone's cash, I'd rather it be mine, then I'm only obligated to me.

Russell, a question please. I have the existing AFM, with an after market chip, and was planning on upgrading to a MAF in the future, would your system still be an advantage?

Russell,
How will this effect MAF or MAP users?

Initially the unit provides an advantage in that you don't have to swap chips anymore. When you switch to a MAF, you're going to need new software, unless you go with something like the Scivision MAF that emulates an AFM. The future direction of the project will include tuning capabilities in real time. Meaning anything that can be tweaked in a chip to map your tune perfectly, will be accomplished via tuning interface to this device. When paired with my products, you'll have the ability to download and upgrade or a mod change tune online. If I release revision changes for a certain type of chip that revision change will be a free download. This ensures that all my clients can have the same software version and the best performance. If you use someone else's software, it gives them the flexibility to help you tune your car better and more specifically to their software. Again, everybody wins.

Regards,
Russell

MAF/MAP users still have to use a chip of some sort, this replaces the chip, you never have to open the DME again (unless it breaks) and the future tuning software will help you dial in your MAF/MAP even better.

Russell

Russell, the ribbon connector will go into the DME just once I take it. Will you have a spacer or small rubber type grommet to go over the connector to protect it from chaffing on the edges?

I'm going to furnish a template to snip/fold one edge of the DME housing, and a gasket of some sort to go around the ribbon cable where it goes through to further protect it from damage. I'm also looking into a way of latching the header that replaces the chip into the socket so it can never vibrate out. Hmmm, superglue?

So the wife was looking over my shoulder when I was working on the website just now and says:

"why not maxtronic?"

DUH!

so, that's what it is now...

So much for all our ideas....sheesh, leave it to a woman to point out the obvious...

I'm in, put me on the list....:-). BTW - And I apologize if you had mentioned this before.....but when you develop the graphical interface is there any chance you could incorporate things like EGT/Boost/TB position/RPM etc. readouts and logging instead of just tunning parameters/logging for fuel/ign. I now this would be "muy complicado" but it would be great to have everything in one solution.

Way to push the envelope

Maxtronic is great but you should spell it Maxxtronic to keep with your "I got Maxxed!" tag.
